I realize the NBA is about as popular these days as the Norwalk virus on the Crestview High band trip to Hawaii.
Still, the NBA is what I do best, so here are my predictions for the upcoming playoffs.
Predictions are based on the computer formula used to produce the ratings in my book, The NBA From Top to Bottom www.sportsfromtoptobottom.com).
FIRST ROUND
Look for Utah (No. 4 seed without home court advantage) to knock off Houston and Phoenix to beat San Antonio. The rest of the favorites will win.
SECOND ROUND
Boston and Detroit (East) and the Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans (West) will emerge to reach the conference finals.
FINALS
Look for Boston to beat the Lakers to claim the franchise’s 17th NBA title — and for the series to rejuvenate fan interest in the NBA.
